THEORETICAL ONCOLOGY
A doctor, a physicist, and a philosopher have ventured to expand the concept of theoretical oncology offered by histopathologist Józef Laskowski four decades ago.
According to Professor Laskowski, theoretical oncology was to help understand the mechanism of pathology in carcinogeneity using a comparative analysis of data provided by various medical disciplines: oncogenesis and embryogenesis. Authors of the Declaration are expanding the scope of theoretical oncology and work on developing its investigation instruments.
Theoretical oncology seeks to find a key to cancer epidemics across a broadest possible spectrum of sciences involved in cancer research.
Investigation into the essence of cancer epidemics is the top priority for the authors and, therefore, they discard any empirical, logical, and metaphysical "violence." The authors are trying to pool the efforts of various sciences together with the reflection of cancer patients, their dears, friends, and many others who have taken part in discussing the cancer problem. With this approach, theoretical oncology in a natural way refers to Professor Tadeusz Koszarowski's personalistic definition of oncology.
